Want to get away without going away?
Taking up most of a block right in the middle of Burwood, there is a lot of space at Burwood Park. It's right across the road from the Westfield's and there is a lovely duck pond and water feature running though the park. I'm always surprised when I see a space like this in a built up area, it's such a great escape and you don't have to go very far to get there. You can even pop over to one of the many stores for a coffee or a snack while you're there!

It would be the perfect spot for a romantic walk with lovely old trees and walking paths, though as ideally suited to families with children who love to explore.

There is a rose garden which looks beautiful with fragrant roses. This is right near the well equipped, fenced in playground.

A giant chess board is an interesting feature and a group big enough could play a game of "human chess" on it.

To the practicalities, there are plenty of park benches to sit on, lots of open space, a toilet block open daylight hours, a well shaded playground and on street parking. The parking is mostly limited to two hours, some of it is free, and the area is patrolled, so if you visit with a car, keep an eye on the parking or put the car further away if you're planning to stay at Burwood Park for a long time.
