The Burwood Brickworks Shopping Centre was the first retail centre to attempt and to achieve the world's first building challenge built to obtain rigorous measure of sustainability to a gold standard. The Centre's core objectives were to manage waste and source the right materials to strict site rules, which meant that ninety-nine percent of waste generated was diverted from landfill.
The Centre hosts a Community Market on the second Saturday of each month where people can mingle, eat, shop and catch up with friends in an inspirational environmental atmosphere.
As well as good food and drinks to purchase, stallholders showcase a variety of handicrafts for gifts and take-home delights.
Anyone wishing to hold a stall on these Market Days is required to fill out the form here . The Market commences at 10.00am through to 4.00 pm.
Burwood Brickworks Urban Plaza is situated at 70 Middleborough Road, Burwood East, Victoria.
