Caravanning is not only for the grey nomads
Are you looking for a new place to visit on a budget? Caravanning or camping in winter is great, just throw an extra jumper and blanket in the boot of the car and enjoy the sunny days.

Approximately three hours from Brisbane we found the Burrum Caravan Park, located ten mins from Howard along the Burrum River.

The locals are friendly and the fishing is great, especially if you have a boat to cruise the river. Some like to admire the the bird life, taking in the sight's and after dark the star look like diamonds shimmering behind the gum trees.

Howard has many things to do such as Brooklyn Heritage House or Bamboo Land with over 200 species of bamboo just to name a couple.

Or you might like to continue walking around the park until you find 'Freak Tree' for a photo opportunity.

The caravan park is a quite relaxing establishment in a central location and not far from Harvey Bay famous for whale watching, Maryborough with major shopping centres, and street markets every Thursday. It is also the birth place of Mary Poppins.
