Burnt Orange is a cafe that sits amongst the beautiful surrounds of Middle Head and the Sydney Harbour National Park. The winding path leading to the cafe is lined with ferns, flowers, and other plants, and when you read the cafe it is no less pretty. Set in a large house, which was once a golf clubhouse, you can enjoy stunning views while sampling the tasty Burnt Orange Menu.

The cafe is open from 8:30am till 5:30pm daily, perfect for breakfast, brunch, lunch, or afternoon tea. Breakfast is served until 12pm, and contains tasty bites like buttermilk pancakes with double smoked bacon and maple syrup, fresh avocado and roasted truss tomatoes on toast, or chorizo & manchego tartine with poached egg and Burnt Orange tomato relish. Breakfast is pretty reasonably priced, between about $9 and $15, but the full breakfasts will set you back $18. These are tasty meals made from fresh, high quality ingredients.

After 12 lunch is served, think rich warming pies, or light summer salads. Whatever you feel like, there should be something to whet your appetite. Make sure someone on your table orders a pie or tart, and feels like sharing. Burnt Orange do amazing pastry, with the right amount of crispiness and sweetness, and delicious flavour. Lunch ranges from $10 to $26. You'll want to try and save some room, to fit in a delicious dessert like nougat semifreddo with candied cumquats, or moroccan orange and almond cake with sugared almonds and citrus syrup.

As well as a cafe, you'll also find a shop. The shop is filled with womenswear, children's clothing and toys, and homewares. The highlight is the homewares section, filled with a huge selection of shabby chic accessories from the likes of Cath Kidston and Pip Studio, as well as kitchenware to help you with all your baking and cooking needs.

There is parking at the cafe, but it costs $3 per hour on weekdays and $4 per hour on weekends, it is just a short walk from the carpark to the cafe. It is also wise to make a booking, as even on week days the cafe can fill up. Thankfully the staff are excellent at handling big crowds, not only are they efficient, but they're attentive to every customer.

During the warmer months there is also a kiosk open, here you can grab things like sandwiches, salads, platters, or toasties, perfect for picnics. There is a nice garden surrounding the cafe where you can sit, or why not grab something and head for a walk further into the Sydney Harbour National Park. However you plan your day in the area, consider making Burnt Orange a part of it.
