Fine wine, food & entertainment by a big bonfire
Burning of the Vines Festival 2017
Sirromet Winery will play host this August to the inaugural 'Burning of the Vines' Festival. On the 13th August, all are invited to come and join in on this free event that keeps an old tradition alive all the while enjoying some fine wine, food and entertainment.
The 'Burning of the Vines' festival originated in France and marks the end of harvest and the Winter pruning. The tradition involves collecting cuttings and burning them to cleanse the vineyards to make way for a new harvest. In style, Sirromet's event will treat wine connoisseurs to a great delight with an evening of taste tasting fine wines. But the event aims to provide for everyone - not just wine lovers!
On the day, a local band will provide all the entertainment for your evening under the stars. For the foodies, there will be food trucks galore and Tuscan Terrace's pizza will be open until 8:30pm. For the little ones, there will be kids rides open until 8:30pm as well. For the big kids or the ones whose palettes haven't quite yet developed for wine, the bar will be open until 8:30pm also.
The event will be a great evening out for families, couples and singles alike. Bring along a picnic blanket & relax around the burning vines whilst listening to some local tunes. As mentioned it is free entry into the festival, however you do have to register your interest - you can do that by clicking here.
