I like to participate in life rather than be a spectator. Music, dancing, theatre, travelling, food, cycling and walking are some of my passions. Writing is an enjoyable pastime that allows me to share my experiences.
Burncroft Lodge has six ensuited rooms, three in each wing of the house. The rooms are beautifully decorated and are named rather than numbered. They contain very comfortable bedding, heaters, and electric blankets. The rooms have views of the surrounding property and easy access to sitting areas on the wraparound veranda.
There are two central lounge rooms, one with a fireplace and sound system and the other is set up as a TV/games room. Wi-Fi, Foxtel books, board games and DVDs are available. There is undercover parking for at least four cars in a large shed as well as plenty of extra firewood The dining table seats fourteen and the commercial kitchen is well equipped with everything needed for dinner parties.
On the 20 acres, there is a swimming pool, a nine hole pitch & putt golf course, equipment and space for croquet, cricket and boules. There is an outdoor fire pit, a large BBQ and comfortable outdoor setting. It was relaxing sitting on the veranda with a glass of wine whilst watching kangaroos hopping through the vineyards and the cattle grazing in the paddocks.
Breakfast provisions were ample for our stay and comprised of cereals, milk, bread, spreads, croissants, muffins, bacon, cheese, ham, tomatoes, mushrooms, home grown free range eggs, tea, coffee, juices, fruit and yoghurt.
The owners live in the adjoining house but you would not know it as their service was unobtrusive whilst friendly and helpful. Our rejuvenating stay of three days was full of fun, fire, food and wine and we would love to return in a warmer season so that we could use the pool.
