Burlesque at the Wesley Anne Facebook
Once a month on a Sunday evening the inviting and cozy Wesley Anne on High Street Northcote sets the scene for a fun burlesque show titled Burlesque at the Wesley Anne.
The show is not just burlesque however; there is always a singer and a pole dancer thrown in the mix, not to mention a kooky host and a sexy stage kitten .
Burlesque at the Wesley Anne is produced by the highly talented performer and
Bottom's Up! - Burlesque and Pole school burlesque teacher,
Claire Bowman a.k.a The Cunning Clarissa. As well as being a dance teacher in many genres, Claire is also an actor and one half of the cabaret comedy duo Wrongtown, who have shows all over Melbourne.
The night is sponsored by local and Australian businesses, Kornelia's Kloset, Sideshow Annie's Costume Parlor and Siren Doll, which donate prizes on the night for those game enough to take to the stage in audience participation.
The Wesley Anne is not just a performance venue, it is also a restaurant and bar and Burlesque happens in the larger performance area but you are welcome to take food and drink in as you watch the show.
