Burger Urge's New Yorker
South Bank has a fun new gourmet burger restaurant, called
Burger Urge, and we stopped in there for a great lunch last weekend. The restaurant is the seventh in a fast growing and popular chain of Burger Urge's across South East Queensland. Their goal is to make "Brisbane's most addictive burgers" and their secret is to use fresh, local ingredients, which are naturally free from any preservatives.

The gourmet burgers come in a variety of flavors - prime Australian beef, premium lamb, marinated chicken or vegetarian, with a variety of sauces and toppings. The current special is "The Fat Elvis" which comes with beef, grilled onion, lettuce, tomato, bacon, dijon mustard, mayonnaise and ketchup ($12.75). I chose the tasty "New Yorker" beef burger which came with cheese, free range bacon and pickles, a side of chips, and a drink ($17.75). Actually, the whole menu looked extremely tempting and I plan to return soon to try the "Zorba The Greek", the Buffalo wings and the Burnt Caramel Gelato.

Read the comics on the wall
We sat in a booth and read the newspaper style comics on the wall, enjoying the cool industrial decor. The kids enjoyed their meal deal, which also came with chips and a drink.
Burger Urge has a perfect location right near "Street's Beach" at South Bank, making it a great spot for lunch on the weekend - after a refreshing swim at the pool. I reckon it is
the place to be seen over summer with a super relaxed vibe, and $5 beers on Fridays.
