Ain't called the Guru for nothing
One noteworthy stop in the Byron/Tweed Region, and perfect if making your way to or from the Gold Coast airport, is Burger Guru. It's a burger restaurant with offerings beyond your average burger bar.
The first thing that hits you is the detailed menu and friendly staff. The big draw however, is the food. The meat is spiced to suit the burger, not just one patty fits all. With easily over twenty different types of burgers on the menu, there's definitely something for everyone, regardless of dietary requirements.
As the venue is fully licensed, you can wash your meal down with a beer, cocktail or one of the fabulous milkshakes.
I opted for the mildly spicy Mexican Burger, that had a spiced waygu patty and Swiss cheese (you'll note on the menu the type of cheese also varies burger to burger). While my companions gave the thumbs up to one of the chicken burgers and the vegetarian potato and chickpea burger. Most of the meal was spent arguing over who had ordered better, and the merits of our choices. Needless to say, all of us loved every bite!
Even the chicken nuggets were made with proper pieces of chicken!
If burgers aren't your thing, there's some hearty salads and tapas plates with other offereings, but believe me, you will be missing out!
There's a lot of care in the kitchen, and attention to detail in every aspect of the restaurant offerings. Open lunch and dinner every day except Wednesday, so make sure you plan a meal stop when next in the area.
