It takes a lot to see my little brother excited but when he stumbled upon Bungalow a couple of weeks back, he very quickly (and loudly) shared his delight. He was blown away by the delicious tapas available and he dragged us back there to celebrate his 21st Birthday last weekend.

The restaurant itself was beautifully lit with a leafy ceiling dappled with fairy lights. The romantic dim lighting was complimented by the delightful tunes from the live music drifting over the tables. Whilst I'm glad we weren't sitting too close to the very loud, but beautiful sounding singer, he certainly contributed to the warm and inviting atmosphere of Bungalow.

The birthday boy didn't even allow us more than a glance at our menus before announcing we were going to share 8 various tapas plates between the group. After placing our order for drinks and food my brother pointed out that this is the only place he's ever eaten where you will finish your drink at the same time you finish your meal, because the service is just that quick, and the food just that delicious. But don't worry; if you are stressed your meal will be over in a flash, you can enjoy scrumptious desserts and a couple of post dinner drinks during Bungalow's extended happy hour.

When the tapas dishes were brought out to us, we raced to get one of everything on our plates. Splitting four Crispy Arancini Balls between five was a challenge but we made it work… delicious, yummy work. The standout dishes for me were the Bruschetta and the Patatas Bravas. Bruschetta is one of my favourite homemade dishes but Bungalow put my simple snack to shame. The oddly named Patatas Bravas consisted of melt-in-your-mouth potatoes covered in a creamy but spicy sauce that we couldn't get enough of. I think Dad was worried for a moment the silly fighting of our teen years was going to rear its head once again as we fought for the last mouthful. However gracious sister as I am was willing to give the birthday boy the final bite. Although these were my favorites dishes, the Salt and Pepper Calamari and Bungalow Dips and Bread were also faultless.

After dinner we indulged in a little desert and everyone at the table was jealous of my Baileys & Espresso Cheesecake. This creamy little delight was one of the best deserts I've had in my life, and I consider myself a chocolate enthusiast. Even my partner kept trying to distract me with imaginary horses and other ridiculous scenarios in the hopes I would turn my head long enough to allow him a sneaky bite. But I wasn't falling for that; there was no way I was giving up even a lick of the amazing flavours on my plate! It was honestly so good that I forgot to take a photo of it, I was in such a rush to consume the slice of cake.

If your family can withstand the taste race that comes with top-of-the-range tapas, Bungalow is the place to dine.
