Give your child a party to remember
What if you could hold children's birthday party where the guest list includes cute lambs and frisky ponies? Wouldn't it be the ultimate if your kid loves animals to bits and would always remember this as the best birthday party ever? Okay, I'm working myself into a tizz now and starting to wish I had a four year old I could arrange a party for. Read on to get an idea of how to have a party experience with a difference.
The venue is the Coopers Settlement Farm and the location is within the green acres of Bundoora Park. You probably know by now and especially if you've been reading my reviews that they have a petting farm at this location. What you probably didn't know is that they also have venues for hire where you can hold parties and functions that include the various rides, play areas, and the petting zoo inmates.
The Three Party Venues
Let's get down to the details. The three venues for hire are the Party Barn, the Stables, and the Ibis Room. The Party Barn is the biggest of the three and can accommodate around 60 people. If you have a day-long session planned, you can book it for two sessions. The Ibis Room can easily hold a crowd of 20-30 people without elbows finding ribs. You can only book this venue for a single session. The Stables is a smaller venue and can accommodate 15-20 people.
Each session is 3 hours long. If that does not sufficiently cover your plans, you would need to book two sessions. Each session costs about $67. Double sessions are only available at Party Barn and you should have a minimum of 60 guests to be able to book a double session. You might want to give them a call at 8470 8170 and confirm in order to make sure the rates haven't been modified.
An added attraction of this venue is the built-in petting farm and its party animals. Animals include cow, ponies, wallabies, goats, lambs, chicken, pig, and more. Kids get to feed and cuddle them as well as bottle-feed the little ones. Pony rides are part of the fun unless of course the weather decides to play evil fairy godmother and it rains.
A tour through the Heritage Village is part of the celebrations. The village set in the 19th century gives a pretty good idea of how life must have been in those days. You get to see a Blacksmith Barn, a Steam and Stationary Engine Shed, a Printing Press, and a quaint old Chapel. In case you're interested, the Chapel is open to hire for weddings, christenings, and photo shoots.
Cooper's Settlement is certainly a venue that will elevate a birthday party to another level beyond the usual cakes, ice-cream, and balloons affair. The petting zoo, the tractor ride, the Heritage Village, and the special rooms in which to have your party will make for an event that your kids will remember for a long, long time. The only drawback as far as I can see is you having to come up with something to top this idea the next time around.
