Relax in the countryside, explore the natural beauty
Got a big group that wants to getaway from it all? Consider Bundanoon YHA as a great escape, at reasonable prices.

The Youth Hostel comfortable sleeps 42 people, in 9 rooms, so ideal for groups of 10 or more. The kitchen is large and well equipped, and has plenty of stove tops, ovens and fridges (and a freezer).

The dining room has a large table plus a number of smaller tables of 6, and a roaring fire to warm the room.

The lounge is comfy with plenty of sofas and armchairs to relax by the fire, and roast those obligatory marshmallows.

There is a huge verandah, with tables to eat outside, you should you get the warmer weather, and even a hammock to relax in with a book.

The big draw is, suitable for all weather, a climbing wall and the ever popular ping pong table.

Outside, there is a BMX track, and the kids in our group were endlessly out there, testing their skills. If you don't have a mountain bike, consider hiring one from the shop in town. It's a blast, even for the adults!

You can also go mountain biking in the national park, so the bike will definitely get a work out with the energetic members of your group.

The Morton National Park offers plenty of bush walks, but consider packing torches so you can hit the trail to the Glow Worm Glen at night to see the amazing glow worms in action.

For the lazy, or those in need of pampering, consider booking a massage or beauty treatment at the nearby Solar Springs Health Retreat.

The Hostel has a well stocked supply of board games, for lazy afternoons, plus a basketball hoop and a volleyball court for those that want a bit more of an active game.

The hostel is mainly booked by groups for the weekends, so contact the friendly staff on 02 4883 6010 to get the ball rolling. One member of your group will need to join YHA Australia, but it offers many discounts to activities around the country, that it won't take long to make your money back - and if nothing else, you may find you want to start renting out other hostels around the State.

It's a great set-up for a group weekend getaway, the only problem you may have is finding availability. So get your gang together, bring the kids and have a wonderful weekend in a stunning location - that doesn't cost the earth!
