Take a trip to the Southern Highlands next weekend for the annual Bundanoon Garden Ramble when villagers open up their gardens to visitors from 9.30am to 4.30pm on both Saturday and Sunday.
The gardens range from no dig quarter acre cottage gardens to old gardens on acres. All feature cold climate plants and deciduous trees. Azaleas, climatis and new roses are out in the village as well as columbines and wisteria.
The new growth on oaks, magnolias, crab apples and liquidambers in the main street is fresh and soft, casting delicate shadows as you drive in.
Tickets will be on sale at the Memorial Hall at the corner of Railway Parade and Church Street: $18pp for all gardens, $15 concession or $5 for a single garden. Tickets give you a map and description of all ten gardens open this year.
