If you've got a burgeoning, third-trimester baby bump, it's exciting, yet slightly nervy (or terrifying in my case) to think that the bump will very soon be a baby - especially if it's your first.
It's nice to know then, that there are other first-time mums-to-be out there who you can talk to about your concerns or to share your excitement over a cuppa at the Child and Parent Centre in East Waikiki.
Bump to Baby are free workshops run every Wednesday from 2pm to 3:30pm at the centre by parenting and early childhood support provider Ngala. They are specifically designed for mums-to-be to help prepare for the impending and exciting role of motherhood, yet also to connect with other mums who live in the area.
While providing and sharing information on baby's sleep, feeding, settling and child development, the workshop also has a strong focus on attendees building friendships that can span a lifetime.
All first-time pregnant women in their third trimester are encouraged to come along with a friend or partner for a relaxing chat and ask Ngala staff all the parenting questions that have been on their mind before baby arrives. It's a great opportunity to learn how to adjust to your new life, how to best look after yourself after birth and what other support and resources are available in your community.
This is your chance to speak to informative, caring and resourceful staff who can answer all of those niggling questions about life with a baby.
