As you leave Crows Nest towards Toowoomba, there is an interesting and delightful small park, "Bullocys Rest" on your left which you must stop and have a look at. Better still use it as a refreshment stop. There are covered picnic tables, BBQ, toilet and water. How good is that! Fill up your drink bottles.

Bullockys Rest
The stunning bullocks will be the first thing you notice. Four life-size animals that look so real. They are pulling a wagon laden with logs that were milled in the area. This park is a memorial to those wonderful animals and the teamsters who worked with them. This was one of their favoured stops as they made their long slow journeys to Toowoomba which was a rapidly growing settlement in the late 19th century.

Bullocks wagon
Crows were very common in this area, making their nests in the huge Apple trees growing there near the watercourse. Hence the Aboriginal name for this area is Tookoogandanna, meaning "Abode of Crows"

Picnic tables
From the back of the park, there are walking tracks that wind their way around the town showing off the local fauna. They are not too long so good for some quick exercise.
