When hubby was looking for a restaurant in Sydney's North Shore area for our son's birthday, I was intrigued by 's location, inside a converted English Tudor cottage re-styled into a western saloon.


, owned by Glen Ellis and Lisa McKenna, opened up just as the second lockdown hit Sydney. Glen and Lisa have a passion for smoked meats, cocktails and country music, but as they couldn't have dine-in customers, they needed to diversify into burgers and be delivery-friendly. They will soon add to their menu steaks and smoked meats.

Glen informed me that the locals love the burgers so much, these will not be taken off the menu. I can reliably inform you all that I am glad the burgers will remain. More of that later.


Glen and Lisa felt that the American Saloon theme would be an unpretentious place where friends and families want to come in and feel relaxed. Judging from the dine-in customers, they have achieved this. Kids, teens, adults were all enjoying the tasty burgers, crispy chips and refreshing drinks.

Head Chef Karl ensures everything is sourced fresh and Mixologist, Ash, ensures the cocktails are on point.


When we arrived, the friendly waitress showed us to a western-style booth, dark-wooded timber with comfortable leather seating. Bottles of Corona devoid of the yellow ale are creatively employed as salt and pepper shakers on each table. Bull horns and deer antlers are artistically utilised as light fixtures and horseshoes decorate the brickwork of the large hearth.


For the starters, it was difficult to decide between cheesy loaded fries or the bacon and cheese loaded skins. The Chicken Wings with Buffalo Sauce was the winner with the four of us. The chicken was juicy, very spicy and an excellent starter. The six wings were a decent size with a good amount of chicken meat.


We spent considerable time perusing the main menu. The southern fried chicken burger with herbs and buttermilk, slaw, pickles and chipotle mayo seemed amazing. The double bullhorn cheeseburger with two burger patties, American cheese, the special bullhorn burger sauce and pickles was tempting. In the end, we made our choices and were very satisfied.

The birthday boy had the Barnyard Burger. The menu advertises this appealing burger with the slogan, "if it moo's, oinks or clucks, it's on this burger!" He was not disappointed. The burger was piled high with a minced burger patty, streaky bacon, buttermilk fried chicken, American cheese, slaw, bullhorn sauce and chipotle aioli on a toasted milk bun. All burgers come with a side of fries and he was offered an upgrade of loaded fries. Fortunately for him, he turned the offer down. Though he has a big appetite, he found the burger and fries were defeating him towards the end.


Daughter ordered the BLT Burger with house minced burger patty, streaky bacon, American cheese, bullhorn sauce, lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles packed high on a toasted milk bun. She exclaimed how delicious this burger was.


Hubby and I each chose the Shredded Brisket Burger, a super delicious burger laden high with smokey BBQ shredded brisket, BBQ sauce, slaw and pickles on a toasted milk bun. This burger oozed saucy sweetness, it was absolutely delightful.


The $15 Lunch Special on Thursdays and Fridays from 12 noon to 3:00pm is a great bargain which includes burgers, wraps and fish and chips, all served with chips and soft drink.

Their Happy Hour 3:30pm to 5:30pm serves up $15 cocktails and $6 beer and wine with $1 Wings (minimum order of 5), you don't want to go anywhere else.


has a nice family vibe or it's a place to catch up with friends. Dine-in and takeaway Thursday to Sunday. This is definitely a place to return to, with great food and friendly and professional service.
