History in Brisbane's Trendiest Suburb
Bulimba is by and far the trendiest suburb in Brisbane with many upmarket cafes and restaurants. Bulimba has also managed to preserve a number of heritage buildings.

Bulimba transformed from farmland to a suburb after the 1880s and so has a very different feel from somewhere like Teneriffe just across the river.

Getting there is as easy as jumping on the river ferry and getting off at the first stop on the heritage trail, the Bulimba Ferry Terminal.

To follow the heritage trail, just walk up Oxford Street keeping your eyes out for heritage trail markers on the footpath. The trail ends at the end of Oxford Street with the Bulimba State School.

You can also stop for a meal at one of the many restaurants and cafes in the area. I recommend the Cinema Cafe on Oxford Street for modern Australian fine dining in a casual atmosphere.
