Bulimba Festival 2013

Home > Brisbane > Community Centres | Family | Festivals | Free | Kids

The Bulimba Festival is returning to Oxford Street for 2013! Mark Sunday 25th August, 9am-4pm, in your diary as Oxford Street will be closed off to traffic and filled with 250 market stalls, live entertainment and amusement rides.

The festival is sponsored by the Returned & Services League of Australia, (RSL) and they have been continually working over the last few years to make Bulimba Festival a success. Last year's festival attracted a crowd of 90,000, and this year is expecting a record-breaking crowd of up to 100,000.

Hundreds of market stalls will be lining the street selling beauty, arts and crafts and fashion items. But, make sure you come with an appetite as the food stalls will smell too good to resist.

With two main stages there will be non-stop entertainment throughout the day. Headlining acts will include 'Frankie J Holden', 'Wilbur Wilde' and 'Joe Camilleri'.

If attending with little ones, the Kid's Corner will be returning this year. Brisbane Memorial Park will be transformed to host carnival favourites like dodgem cars, face painting and an animal petting zoo.

So, come along and take part in what is sure to be the most successful Bulimba Festival yet!

I'm continually amazed how many places in Australia have the same name as those in UK (particularly London); I keep thinking these are event near me, and then realise they are thousands of miles away.
