Fitness and fun are on the menu in the inaugural Bulimba Burn on Sunday 3rd December 2017.

The Burn 333 - as it is known - is 333m of excruciating uphill running from the roundabout at the bottom of Oxford Street in Bulimba all the way to the top to the entrance to Bulimba State School on Wentworth Parade.

The organisers claim it to be "probably the shortest, steepest, toughest and silliest fun run in Brisbane, if not the whole, entire world". There will be 17 running events throughout the morning with 1000 runners expected.

Some fun facts about The Burn …

• The average gradient of the course is 1:3
• The steepest part of the 333m course is 1:2
• The current 'World Record' of 3m 15s is held by a local school mum during school drop off, chasing her son up the hill who had forgotten his lunch box....

It promises to be a great fun day in the lovely Bulimba community. The Bulimba State School Christmas Markets will take operate for the duration of the and beyond (from 8.00am to 2pm). The Christmas Markets will have stalls providing food, product and activity stalls, along with family entertainment. Santa is sure to make an appearance.

Benji Marshall (former Bronco's and now West Tigers) will be there on the day with some other stars hoping to make it down.

The event is organised by Bulimba State School P&C and funds go to the school. Velocity Property Group and Hawthorne Garage are key supporters.
