Stands out as one of the Sunshine Coast's best beaches
Images of Bulcock Beach belong on the front of Sunshine Coast postcards. The crunchy sands of the beach, the calm blue ocean and the beautiful view out over the water to the northern tip of Bribie Island just define how scenic the Sunshine Coast can be. It's the perfect place for a day trip out of the city, a weekend getaway or a full fledged holiday.

The Boardwalk is a beautiful stretch of walkway running along the entire beach area - a shared pedestrial and cycle trail. It's perfect for fishing (in certain areas), running, walking, strolling and just plain old sight seeing. The Boardwalk is great for dog walking as well. Keep in mind however that this is an on leash area.

You'll find plenty of grassed areas to lie down under the shade from the tall Norfolk Trees. If you arrive at the Boardwalk early enough, you might be lucky enough to grab a table and bench right on the water's edge. It's the perfect spot for a picnic with family and friends.

The beach itself is one of the best the Sunshine Coast has to offer. It's a popular area for swimming, diving, wind surfing, boating and jet skiing. The main swimming area is patrolled by the nearby Ithaca-Caloundra Surf Life Saving Club seven days a week from September to April. This is a still water beach, so you won't get pounded by giant waves here - it's perfect for anyone looking for an easy dip in the ocean or someone swimming at a beach for the first time. If you're keen on a swim check out the conditions here.

After a day in the sun, you'll be hankering for a good feed. Luckily The Esplanade has plenty of choices on offer. Tides Waterfront Dining and Reflections are popular, as is the Sandcar Cafe Kiosk. Rosey's On The Beach is another great venue and for fish and chips, you can't go past Beachview Seafoods.

There sure is a lot that can be done at Bulcock Beach - so why not extend a day trip into a weekend stay. The Waterview offers four star accommodation across from Bulcock Beach, Joanne Apartments is another good choice and Tranquil Shores is as nice as its name would have you believe.

Bulcock Beach and the Boardwalk is the very definition of a Sunshine Coast beach - clear skies, beautiful sands and perfect ocean views. It's a must do for anyone looking to encapsulate exactly what the region is all about. Add it to your itinerary next time you're in the area.
