I went to this restaurant with high expectations. (Get it? "High expectations" and the restaurant is on the top floor of a High-rise). It's never a good start when you have to explain your pun.

Anyhow, I was excited to be going to a top floor, revolving restaurant and honestly can you blame me? Did I mention it revolves?

After the smooth elevator ride up, the doors opened straight to the restaurant. I was absolutely starving, because like any good buffet warrior eater, you must preserve food space.

My boyfriend and I were sadly not placed next to a window (you need to have more than 3 people for a window table, pffft who knows that many people anyway?) and were given an introduction to Four Winds and shown where the buffet and bar were.

Once the waiter was gone, I waited an appropriate 3 seconds to go up and start piling my plate. I headed over to the entrees to start. First impressions were positive, until I sat down and munched away. The entrees were beyond average. One even tasted like something you could get out of the freezer and heat up yourself.

Next was to the seafood buffet, to watch my boyfriend fill up on oysters upon oysters. I personally don't like seafood, but I did try a prawn (that was like fear factor for me). My boyfriend had no complaints with the seafood section.

Then it was time for mains. I felt adventurous after eating that prawn, like I could take on anything. I put all the different dishes on my plate. After tasting everything, I came to my "main decision", it wasn't what I expected. Paying 5 star rates, you expect the food to be 5 stars and it didn't come close to that mark. However I did enjoy the Asian inspired fried chicken, but that was it. My boyfriend agreed, so he just went back to stuffing his beautiful face with seafood.

By now I was ready for the desserts. I had passed them a few times and was already drooling about the thought of them gracing my lips. Placing 7 mini cakes on my plate (don't judge me) I was in heaven.

The view, desserts, service and the company of my boyfriend were the highlights of my night. Sadly I can't say anything else was, especially when I got the bill. I knew it would be $$$ but I never thought they would charge $5 for a can of soft drink and $7 for a bottle of water that was on the table and looked complimentary. For the buffet alone, it cost $62.00 on a Monday night. I have been to many buffets and have always walked away satisfied that I got my money's worth, in this case it was the total opposite. Even my boyfriend being the huge seafood lover he is, didn't find this place all that great.

With all that being said, I think this experience would be more enjoyed at lunch. Possibly they have a better menu then and you would be able to see the view more clearly.
