There is a little bit of fun for everyone at . This perfect pit stop along Pittwater Road at Hunters Hill has facilities for ages and abilities. Make sure you have the picnic basket, bikes and trikes packed to make the most of this fantastic reserve.
The large playground is completely shaded and will keep younger kids occupied for quite a while. There are things to climb, slide down, balance on and play shop in. Monkey bars, slippery slides, swings, climbing ropes and fireman poles are but some of the equipment that little legs can tire themselves out on.
For those little ones that love to play house there is a very cute little cubby house. Also for little ones there is an excellent bike/scooter path where you can hopefully teach your kids a thing or two about roadside etiquette as it is marked out with roundabouts, traffic signs and other road markings. Just a word of warning - kids rule the roads here - they will beep you and push you out of the way if you are in their path.
For bigger kids there is an awesome flying fox, but be warned there can be a queue to ride it, as it is one of the most popular attractions in the reserve. Also if you let your little ones have a go, run alongside them as there is a bit of a nasty bump when it hits the other end and most little ones will no doubt fall off.
If your kids are a bit more sporty, than there is loads of space to kick a ball, run wild, fly a kite or even play some hoops as there is a half basketball court. For those amongst you who are keen bush walkers there are small walks along the creek and you can also meet up with the famous
Great North Walk that runs from Sydney to Newcastle.
Buffalo Creek reserve is a popular picnic spot and place to have parties. There are quite a few undercover picnic shelters, free electric BBQs and lots of space to throw down a picnic blanket. There are toilets and bubblers on site as well as parking. The reserve can get very busy on weekends so if the car park is full, there is more parking across the road from the reserve.
