One of the biggest pleasures of life is the ability to travel.

Australians are so blessed to live in such a beautiful country. However, because a beautiful holiday destination is often only a 3 hour drive or flight away, many Australians rarely fly overseas for a holiday. In addition, the higher costs of travelling overseas also deters most.

Nevertheless, those who bother to travel abroad get the advantage of experiencing other cultures, learning common words used in another language, meet people from all walks of life and taste a myriad of culinary delights. After all, Mark Twain once said, "Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness."

Rejoice, therefore, as I share with you how you can buy a ticket to an exotic destination which will cost you almost the same amount it costs to travel interstate.

Up first is Australian owned Jetstar . Only the best thing since sliced bread. This budget airline has the cheapest tickets to Japan. Look out for Japan sales to get tickets for less than $500. Think Sakura blossoms, world class trains, freshest Japanese cuisine, tatami mats and hot springs. What more can you wish for?

Next is AirAsia which leaves from the Coolangatta Airport in the Gold Coast. Travellers in the city can catch a bus from Roma station to the airport that services all AirAsia flights. This airline is best for travellers who wish to travel to multiple destinations in South East Asia. Spend about $200-$300 a flight to KL and add in multiple destinations in the region for prices as low as $10!

Lastly, the newest airline to hit the market is Scoot , a subsidiary of Singapore Airlines. This airline also departs from the Gold Coast Airport, but offers fares that are by far the cheapest of the three. Imagine a trip to Singapore for only $111 dollars! From Singapore, you can buy a ticket to pretty much anywhere in the world and the addition of the two will more often than not work out to be much cheaper than buying a ticket from Australia. You can trust me on that.

So there you have it, a ticket to the world. With the Australian dollar faring stronger than most of the worlds' currencies, the time to travel is now. Step outside and live like no other generation ever could. Fill your life with crazy adventures and beautiful sights because you can.
