A local spot to get back to nature
The North Buderim Lake Circuit is a delightfully easy two kilometre walk that is suitable for
families,
wheelchair users, prams and even recreational cyclists.

Beautiful wide pathways to enjoy ...
The entire circuit only takes about thirty minutes, but allow more time to enjoy the local fauna and the many varieties of birdlife. We even discovered a little turtle sunning itself on the side of the lake on a rock, hastily scurrying back into the water when we startled it.

Take a seat to enjoy the mesmerising water views ...
Outdoorsy folk will just love the bench seats around the lake, set in great vantage positions to take in the mesmerising water views, naturally inspiring feelings of peace and serenity.

Island in the middle of the lake
There are a few locations to start the walk, but if you are arriving by car, then the walk can commence wherever you choose, or wherever you can find a car park. One of the starting locations is at Buderim Lakeshore Park, within the residential area, walking along a section of suburban streets, before linking with the pathway around the lake. Please note that wheelchair users may find the residential section of this circuit challenging, but as this portion of the circuit is not around the lake, one can opt not to do it.

Buderim Lakeshore Park
For families with children, the Buderim Lakeshore Park has a well-equipped playground, boasting an extra-large green space - the kids will love exploring the under-cover playground plus have the opportunity to run off some surplus energy. The playground is opposite a small retail centre and if you're lucky, you may be able to find a cup of coffee here.

Quiet spot to park on a Sunday!
Our choice to commence the North Buderim Lake Circuit was to park our car at the intersection of North Buderim Boulevard and Claremont Street, close to the Maroochydore Ambulance Station, which proved to be a quieter street on a Sunday.

No pirating permitted here
Four important things to note regarding the Lake Circuit:
In the middle of the lake is an island, which may prove to be a temptation to those wannabe pirates amongst us, but access to the island is totally prohibited;
The water quality in the lake is NOT suitable for swimming;

Please refrain from feeding the ducks and swans
Please refrain from feeding the ducks and swans with bread or vegetable scraps, as this causes a nutritional imbalance, which may make them susceptible to disease; and last, but not least,

Dogs on a leash are welcome
The North Buderim Lake Circuit is doggy-friendly, with the proviso that furry family members are on a leash. Somebody has very thoughtfully put out a water bowl at an outdoor water source to ensure our four-legged friends remain hydrated. Doggy-do bags were also available at the start of our short and sweet walk on North Buderim Boulevard.

Doggie hydration ...
How to get there?
Via Sunshine Coast Motorway, take the Maroochy Boulevard exit and turn onto Wises Road. Continue along North Buderim Boulevard and the Buderim Lakeshore Park will be on your right.
If you are looking for somewhere local to get back to nature, I would highly recommend heading to the North Buderim Lake Circuit - the tranquillity and impressive birdlife is deserving of a
'favourites bookmark'.
