You don't have to head to a coast headland or the peak of a mountain to take in extraordinary views of the Sunshine Coast. on
St, buderim&hl=en&hnear=Burnett St, Buderim Queensland 4556&gl=au&t=m&z=16 Burnett St is a popular park and lookout showing off glorious eastern views of popular suburbs, the coastline and out to the Pacific Ocean.
The view is the first thing you'll notice about the park - you get a beautiful view of the area's east from the park including Mountain Creek,
Mooloolaba , Buddina, Warana, Currimundi and even a bit of the
Caloundra area. It's a different way to take in the Coast rather than the usual lookouts from the headlands dotted along the coastline.
The Park gets its name from the
Buderim Lions Club , which was formed in 1967. Soon after its establishment, the members commenced the development of the park, removing rocks and spreading fill to maximise the park area. Shelter sheds and tables were established and a ring-road constructed for vehicle access. Since then, the park has been constantly updated to keep up with the times and remains to this day a popular spot for local families and of course visitors.
The park these days is a wonderful spot for a picnic - they've got lovely grassed areas, tables and benches, undercover areas, a playground and a block of
public toilets . The playground is most impressive - it has got the swing set and the slide and a whole bunch of other stuff a lot of us didn't have when we were younger. To top it off, the area is shaded by a beautiful tall tree which dominates much of the park.
is a highlight of this quaint Coast suburb. It's the perfect place to bring the family for a barbecue, to take friends for a grand view of the Coast, just a quiet place for you to read and relax on the grass and in the shade or even
a terrific place to get married .
