Reflect, Respect and Celebrate



Every year Australians from every corner of the country come together on the 26th of January to celebrate our wonderful country … and what better way to do it than with a true-blue Aussie picnic in the park? Organised by the Rotary Club of Buderim, the Buderim Australia Day Picnic in the Park, is one of the must-do highlights on the Australia Day event calendar for the Sunshine Coast.

The wheels have been set in motion and the entertainment booked, all in preparation for the thousands of locals and visitors who will once again flock to Buderim Village Park. Come along to enjoy the entertainment, food and fireworks and to join together in the spirit of harmony and gratitude to ‘Reflect, Respect and Celebrate’ what it truly means to be an Australian.



Australia Day festivities will include -



Commencing at 4.30pm on Sunday 26th January, the Australia Day Picnic in the Park entertainment will be non-stop right through to the spectacular Bendigo Bank Fireworks display at 8.00pm. Setting the pace for a lively afternoon are awesome entertainers, the Sunshine Blues Band , followed by Fiona O’Shea and her band, who will once again delight Australia Day picnickers with their upbeat country rock. M7 will add to the fun and entertainment and have the crowds moving and grooving with their classic 60/70’s Aussie Pub Rock. The festivities will culminate with local soprano, Michelle Bull, thrilling the crowds with her rendition of the great Seekers classic, ‘I am Australian/We are Australian’, followed by the National Anthem, leading into what is undeniably, the most magical fireworks display on the Sunshine Coast.



Australia Day visitors have the opportunity to browse the displays put on by local community groups. Children will be constantly entertained by local Coastal Caring Clowns and enjoy the activities and games put on by local Scouts, all whilst having their faces painted at one of four different face painting stations.



Bring your chairs or a blanket, sit back and enjoy the entertainment while savouring the culinary delights from one of the many street food outlets - much more than in 2024. The Buderim War Memorial Community Association (BWMCA) will once again be hosting a very relaxed licensed bar for those wanting an ice-cold beer or a wine while enjoying the evening.



As mentioned, the Buderim Australia Day Picnic in the Park is organised by the Rotary Club of Buderim and they are kindly requesting a gold coin donation on entry, with all funds going to help them to continue their work in our local community, assisting those in need.
