It was a real blessing to come to Buddha's Day at Federation Square this year, and I am already looking forward to this annual event at Federation Square in May 2012. This special occasion celebrates the Buddha's birthday with style, compassion and respect.

It is a great opportunity to bathe the Buddha and participate in dharma (loving nature) ceremonies as well as the wishing well and incense offerings. It is so cleansing and enlightening, a moving meditation in itself with vegetarian food available for purchase. Enlightening music will be played aswell.

Vesak is promoted (a traditional Buddhist holiday) and 2012 will mark the 15th year of this festival; Melbourne is indeed one of the world's most multicultural cities. If you don't mind the crowds and enjoy many of Melbourne's cultural activities; then you will enjoy what this particular weekend in the new year is set to offer you. Bliss.
