Showcasing Macedon Ranges Wineries and Produce
The Cellar Doors of the Macedon Ranges are some of the most intimate and welcoming establishments you're likely to find anywhere in the country. Hidden away on narrow country lanes and surrounded by rolling, heavily wooded hills the regions wineries produce some of Australia's most acclaimed cool climate wines which are show-cased each November in the annual Budburst Wine and Food Festival.
Budburst is all about the fruit of the vine
Budburst is a festival on the move where visitors purchase a tasting glass for $15 from any of the more than 20 participating wineries and visit as many or as few as they like for free throughout the weekend.
Regional produce and restaurants take centre stage alongside the wineries to present an annual Macedon Ranges event not to be missed.
The Macedon Ranges are home to some of Australia's great cool climate wine producers
While you 'taste' your way through the Ranges talk to the winemakers and get their individual take on the local Pinot Noir, Riesling, Shiraz or Chardonnay, Cabernet and Merlot.
Far more than just another wine-tasting the Budburst Wine and Food Festival is a great excuse to enjoy a weekend in the Macedon Ranges with some great accommodation available in places like Mount Macedon, Hanging Rock, Kyneton, Woodend and Lancefield.
Hanging Rock Winery is one of the very well known and respected producers participating in Budburst 2013
