Located at the end of Arcade 800 on Hay St and Wolfe Lane, this place is close enough to the CBD to be convenient, but tucked away in a world of its own.
Let's start with what we need to survive these cold winter mornings- the coffee. Using West-Australian based Essenza coffee beans; this steaming cup of goodness will put a smile on the grumpiest retail/office worker in the area (a lot of the time, that's me). Always the perfect temperature- I'm impatient and it never burns my tongue. I also overhead one of the helpful staff members advise another customer that they may want to taste their cappuccino before they added sugar, just in case it would become too sweet. Nice to have staff that know what they are talking about. Prices are around the standard in Perth, $3.50 for a regular, and worth every cent.
On the topic of staff, the service is crazy-good. The second time I went into Bucket, the same person took my order. He recognized me and actually apologized for not remembering my name. Just to be clear, this was the second time I had ever been in there. I have never encountered any other cafe that treats a person with such importance. I'm always greeted with a smile and the attitude remains relaxed no matter how busy they are. If there's to be a wait, I am always advised before I place my order. It's clear that the team at Bucket are a tight-knit, friendly and caring bunch.
Food is great, especially soup of the day. Like Bucket Cafe on Facebook to get an update of what the soup will be before you pop in.
Whether you are stopping for a quick take-away or having lunch in the cafe while admiring the funky street art in Wolfe Lane, The Bucket Cafe is the best place for your coffee, breakfast and lunch in the city of Perth.
