Some elusive and magical bubbles are waiting to be found
When the skies are blue and sunny, and you have some time to devote to a leisurely stroll through Hyde Park, you may be lucky enough to cross paths with some giant, colourful soap bubbles. This is one of the many creative and also quirky things that can be discovered by chance around Sydney - and which are sure to brighten your day from first sight.
The giant soap bubble drifted for a while through Hyde Park
My friend and I took a stroll through Hyde Park's beautiful tunnel of trees yesterday afternoon. In the course of this, serendipity had lead us to noticing a gentleman who was carefully crafting several sizeable soap bubbles to the marvel and joy of children and adults alike.
Offer a donation of your choosing and you will be treated to some surreal and stunning photography opportunities. You will also be allowed to get a bit more interactive with the bubbles. I saw a couple of kids being given some bubble-bath foam, in their hands, and also in the form of a mow-hawk. We also had the chance to try and be wrapped up in a bubble of our own - not always successful, however the splashes upon these bubbles popping felt refreshing in the balmy weather.
Other people have written and taken photos of this bubble-craftsman and the beautiful shimmering spectrums of glossy colours produced within his bubbles. While I can't promise where or when you will be able to find him, some links and our experiences can allow me to tell you where you are likely to find him. One link says he was around the Archibald fountain on a Sunday. As aforementioned, we caught him in the tree tunnel, a location which is in sight from the fountain. I'd say that you are most likely to find him around these locations of Hyde Park that tend to have many people passing through. Also, I don't think that this musing is limited to summer time, as another blog says he was around on a sunny winter's day.
Good luck in finding this artist, and upon finding him, enjoy the feeling of Hyde Park being transformed into an even more magical and whimsical place. Also, if anybody knows about a more definitive location and time that this person is around Hyde Park, please post it in the comments below.
