is a free music festival for fans of hardcore and metal music that is being held in the Sutherland Shire as part of National Youth Week . The event will run from 4.30pm to 9.30pm, on Thursday 11 April, in the ShireLive auditorium. Capacity is capped at 1000, so you need to get there early to make sure you don't miss out (doors open at 4.15pm).

Performers at the festival will come from both the local area and interstate. They include headliners In Hearts Wake , as well as For All Eternity , Hold Your Own , Your Weight in Gold , Justice for the Damned , Stories and Polaris.

As part of the festival, BUBAFest is also holding a 'Shredders' competition for guitar heroes between 12 and 24 years old, who have the chance to win an Ibanez guitar guitar donated by Australis Music , complete with custom art by Holdfast Custom Paint . To enter, you just need to post a one-minute video on the BUBAfest event page . The five best video's will then do battle onstage at BUBAFest.

has been organised by Metal Empire Management and Shire Live Youth, with support from the Sutherland Shire Council . It aims to celebrate the Youth Week slogan: Be You, Be Active, Be Healthy.

The event will be completely drug and alcohol free.
