I had an epiphany while I was eating the Bang Bang Chicken Wings at BSKT. That's how good they are. Epiphany Wings, I'm calling them from now on. With a generous glaze of chilli and organic honey, and a creamy accompanying sauce that would have seen me licking my plate had Grant Hackett not been sitting at the table behind me, healthy eating has never tasted so good.

BSKT both promises and delivers "Unique Food, Culture and Healthy Living in an Urban Eatery Style". It's so refreshing to dine at a place that offers a range of thoughtful and genuinely healthy food options instead of just a few limp salads or some overcooked legumes next to the burgers and fries. Fresh, organise produce abounds with liberal smatterings of current superfood staples such as macqui, chia and kale: perfect dining treats for the health conscious GC set.

A friend and I ordered four of the "smaller" plate options to share consisting of the Aburi Salmon with Brown Rice, Australian Quinoa Salad, Healthy Quesadilla and of course the aforementioned Epiphany Wings. Everything was artfully presented and tasted fresh and clean. The Quesadilla was probably the most exciting sounding yet blandest tasting entry on the list but still worked as a perfectly acceptable side / bread dish.

One of the benefits of eating well prepared and healthy meals is that there is generally still room for dessert afterwards. The Coco-Whip was described to us by the helpful server as coconut water mixed with some form of carbohydrate and whipped then topped with Macqui powder and Paleo Granola, something that didn't exactly sell the product to us. After a tentative taste however, we were sold ten times over. If you, like me, possess the unfortunate dual characteristics of being both health conscious and yet a severe and lifelong icecream addict, this product is for you, my friends. The holy grail of healthy sweet treats. After the first few coconut-y mouthfuls, I had to continually remind myself that I was basically eating whipped water and not soft serve. I can't tell you how they did it, but I can tell you this. Eat it. Eat it now.
