"The Boss", 66 years young Bruce Springsteen, has sold out his Christchurch concert, to be held on Feb 21 next year, 2017. When the tickets went on sale recently, they were all sold out within an hour.

Fans who missed out, or couldn't travel south, were able to purchase tickets for the Auckland concert on Feb 25 2017 at Mt Smart Stadium.

Bruce Springsteen will perform on the eve of the 6th anniversary of the devastating Feb 2011 earthquake in Christchurch. He recently acknowledged his many Christchurch fans at another overseas concert.

It has been reported that Springsteen will be joined at the 2017 summer concerts by the legendary E. Street Band, alongside Aussie rockers Jet, who are reforming for this tour, and hometown legend and maverick from Lyttleton, Marlon Williams and his band, The Yarra Benders.

Ahead of the release of Springsteen tickets, Vbase general manager, Darren Burden, assured fans that plans will be in place to avoid a repetition of the apparent chaos at a past Foo Fighters concert at the same venue last year, when slow-moving queues saw thousands of home fans missing out on the start of the band's show.

Concert start and finish details have not been confirmed at this stage, but the gates will open at 12 pm on Feb 21, with music starting at 5pm and the gig pencilled in for a 11pm finish. This is a much anticipated concert in a rebuilding city. Christchurch people need something special to give them a real good buzz.

After the Australian leg of the 2017 Summer Tour from Jan- early Feb, the Bruce Springsteen retinue will move across the Tasman Sea to New Zealand for concerts in Christchurch and Auckland.
