If your New Year's resolution is to do something with all that junk (hut hum, I mean art and craft materials) procreating in your spare room, then why not stuff some of it in a tote once a month and turn it into something fabulous with the help of your local craft group!
[ADVERT]The Brown Owls are 'a crafty club for rad peeps' and live up to their mission statement. I am now a member of the Melbourne CDB Group and what could be better than gathering around the grand table in the private room of Madame Brussells, nibbling on their gourmet sandwiches, sipping on their wonderous summer cocktails and getting your craft on? I highly recommend you find your nearest group and join immediately.
Groups meet all over Melbourne (and Australia) generally once a month. All types are welcome from ametuers to those whose wares sell at markets all around town. Most meetings are byo (bring that craft project you've been meaning to finish for years) whilst some are more instructional (the perfect opportunity to learn how to crochet) and there are no limits to what you may bring; knit, draw, scrapbook, paint, card make, sew or jewellery make, it's up to you.
