I love a glass of wine or two of an evening on the weekend. My go-to absolute favourite is Brown Brothers Wines and while I'm partial to a really good shiraz, I absolutely love Brown Brothers moscato – still, sparkling or rosa, Cienna, Dolcetto & Syrah or even Orange Muscat and Flora. So, you can imagine my joy when I discovered the Brown Brothers Winery Easter Family Festival , to be held for two days over the Easter weekend on 31 March and 1 April 2018.

From 10 am to 5 pm each day, the Brown Brothers Winery, located at 239 Milawa-Bobinawarrah Road, Milawa, invites you to join in the activities at their family festival. Milawa sits at the northern end of the King Valley wine area, just 18 kms from Wangaratta and 258 kms from Melbourne. It has been the home of Brown Brothers vineyards since 1889 and is also the home of the Milawa Cheese Company and Milawa Mustards.

The annual Brown Brothers Easter Family Festival is a popular event with people coming from near and far to enjoy the scenery (and the wine). There will be food stalls and pop-up bars along with heaps of activities and entertainment, ensuring there is something for everyone. Two separate food stalls, a pie stall and pop up bars will ensure your every comfort with the North East Market Place providing local goodies to create your own gourmet picnic to enjoy in the beautiful shady gardens. Bean bags and picnic rugs will also be available.

Live music from Melbourne Hit Parade and the Miles High jazz quartet will entertain you from 11 am to 4 pm, while you enjoy the wine tasting sessions with over 45 wines to taste at the Cellar Door.

Bring the kids along and take advantage of the jumping castle, Bluearth Foundation activities, puppet making workshops (10 am), roving performers, maze, giant blackboard, chess and lawn games and secure playground. The Easter Bunny will also be along for lots of great Easter fun and be sure to be there for the Easter scavenger hunt.

Tickets are $10 per adults and children (under 18) are free. The entry fee includes a souvenir wine glass or water bottle. Your festival wine glass is required to participate in wine tastings at the Cellar Door and to purchase wine by the glass at festival bars.

Exclusive discounts will be available at the Cellar Door.

Patricia's Table Restaurant will be closed on Saturday and Sunday, however, extend the Brown Brothers experience by coming along on Easter Monday 2 April, for the 3 hour and 5-course degustation lunch commencing at 12 pm.

Tickets are $110 per adult, $40 for children and $105 for Epicurean Members. The children's option includes a kid's main, soft drink or juice and dessert. However, if you would prefer that your child receives the adult degustation menu, the price will be the adult price however, wines will be exchanged for non-alcoholic options.

The degustation menu includes the freshest seasonal produce and the menu will consist of seafood canapé with sparkling wine, poultry entree, meat main, cheese course and dessert and coffee. All courses, except dessert, are accompanied by matching wines. The exact menu description is available by contacting the restaurant on (03) 5720 5540.
