Since it was brought back in 2012, the Brookvale Show has been going strong and the public will be able to enjoy it once again on Sunday October 26 this year. It will run between 10.00am and 4.00pm, with heaps of free entertainment, as well as rides and activities. A distinctly rural atmosphere will prevail, and the highlight of the day is sure to be the racing and diving pigs.



Among the wide range of events that will be happening at the show are a group you won't often see at a city event. There will be wood chopping, woodturning and a horse show. Farm experiences will include animals to see and demonstrations of cow milking and sheep shearing. You can make a scarecrow, join sack races and even gumboot throwing competitions.

Other activities will include train rides, a circus play space, stage and roving entertainment, aerial acrobatics, showbags, a side show alley and and an eco-living space. In the Youth Skate Arena, professional skaters will show off their skills and open skate sessions will allow others to test themselves too.

A range of rides will cater to all ages. These include thrill rides, which will cost $7.00 each turn, and kids rides, which will cost $5.00. An all-day armband for these two types will cost $30.00.

Other activities which will cost a little extra include the water balls, costing $10.00 per ride, and pony rides, available for $5.00 per ride. Kids can also get their face painted for $5.00.

The Brookvale Show will take place at Brookevale Oval.
