Now that Spring is finally in the air and the weather gods are being gracious and rewarding us with beautifully sunny, warm and fragrant days what better time is there to get outside and soak it up? A great way to get out and experience these gorgeous Spring days is to head on out to the Brooklyn Spring Fair and Markets on Sunday 18th September.
Brooklyn Spring Fair
Held at the Brooklyn Sports Oval from 10am to 4pm on Sunday 18th September in Brooklyn, just a 20 minute drive from Hornsby, the Fair will raise money for the Hawksbury River Childcare Centre. Brooklyn's Spring Fair has an array of offerings to thrill and delight from live entertainment to amusement rides to suit the whole family. What kid wouldn't love a little turn on one of the friendly ponies at the Fair? And I have to say, how could you go wrong with a fair that boasts of its ominously named Pony Poo Contest?
But the Brooklyn Spring Fair and Markets wouldn't be complete without the markets. And they certainly have markets-a-plenty with over 60 stalls choc full of crafts, homewares, clothing and jewellery as well as my personal favourites the delightful fresh food stalls. And if your tummy starts grumbling whilst you're pottering around, perusing the wares and reliving your childhood on the amusement rides then be sure to stop at one of the food stands and grab a bite to eat.
And while you're there why not take a relaxing stroll along the Hawkesbury River and explore this often underrated area. And if you're lucky you'll get the chance to spot some of our cute and quirky native Australian wildlife like the pelicans that often crowd the shore. So come one come all to the Brooklyn Spring Fair and Markets and enjoy a wonderful day out.
