Broken City is a thriller that immediately draws you in to the mystery of what is really going on behind the closed doors of the corrupt Mayor, his campaign and the opposing candidate for Mayor in the upcoming election.
Mark Wahlberg stars in this intriguing movie as the rough around the edges ex-cop turned struggling private detective who has been double crossed by Mayor Nicholas Hostetler one too many times and is seeking revenge.
The detective's receptionist provides some comic relief from the sometimes heavy subjects and violent meetings he has with the Mayors offsiders.
Broken City grips you from beginning to end with Russell Crowe's excellent acting and Mark Wahlberg's ferocity as he slowly works away at the large chip on his shoulder that he has been carrying around for seven years.
Catherine Zeta-Jones is cast perfectly as the beautiful wife of the Mayor and plays the part well, with her own unexpected side story to keep the audience guessing.
You gain a deep insight to the various characters in this film with the main focus being on the detective and the Mayor. They both have beautiful partners and their dark secrets which threaten to be exposed throughout the movie.
Broken City is an interesting action packed thriller and with such a great cast that will not disappoint.
