I like to participate in life rather than be a spectator. Music, dancing, theatre, travelling, food, cycling and walking are some of my passions. Writing is an enjoyable pastime that allows me to share my experiences.
Contemporary authentic Spanish cuisine is served up as tasty tapas at Bocados. They are open for dinner from 5pm till late nights a week and also have a lunch service on Saturdays. The dining space is busy and filled with happy noise whilst the service is friendly and efficient and the menu is full of sensational savoury treats with additional items on the daily specials blackboard.
The carrots were herbed and sweet and the potatoes were the best patatas bravas we have had since dining in Spain. The meat was well flavoured, juicy and tender and served with a generous amount of smooth, creamy cauliflower purée with which to mop up the XP sauce.
Although quite full from our meals and jug of sangria, we could not go past the lucuma ice cream on the specials board for dessert. Lucuma is a Peruvian tropical fruit and the delicious creamy ice cream had a slight caramel flavour with a hint of maple.
Groups of four or more can order a tapas banquet. There is a comprehensive drinks menu which includes Spanish wine and beers and on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays for $10 corkage you can BYO wine only.
Take your taste buds for a tapas trip to Spain and South America.
