Move over Rebel Wilson, there's a new real funny girl in town...



Jillian Bell plays 27-year-old Brittany Forgler - a loveable, yet hopeless party-girl who is told to get healthy and lose weight. When she learns that joining the local gym will cost $129 ($US) a month she makes the impressive decision - that most of us don't have the strength or motivation to make - and starts running outside, for free... (der!)

This hilarious movie follows Brittany's physical and emotional journey, from those terrifying first few steps up to (as the title suggestions) her running the iconic NY Marathon.



This 'follow your dream' story would not be complete without a bunch of complications (aka romances and friendships) and (mostly self-inflicted) obstacles along the way, and it does (somewhat disappointingly) finish with the typical Hollywood happily ever after ending...

Having just achieved a huge personal goal myself, I would have like to see Brittany sitting alone in her house again, thinking 'now what?' and wanting to sleep for 100 years - because in reality that's what happens. Life just goes on like before...



Anyway, I will have to give actress Jillian credit for actually losing over 40 pounds while filming and running in the movie - and as a fellow non-runner, I think that's an impressive real-life achievement and story in itself. And the ultimate life imitating art, right?!

Based on a true story, this gorgeous movie is by award-winning playwright Paul Downs Colaizzo and is 100% inspiring, endearing and enjoyable - I totally recommend it!
