In June 2011 the most unimaginable tragedy struck the Guerra family. In the early hours of a Sunday morning their family home caught fire,Mum Kylie, Dad Tony, and daughter Britney,10, were trapped inside. Thankfully other daughter Marlie was at her grandmothers.
Tony did what any husband and father would do, in a great act of heroism he rescued his wife then returned to the burning inferno to rescue Britney who suffered from cerebral palsy making it near impossible for her to get out quickly.
Both Tony and Britney lost their lives in the fire on that sad morning.
Britney's life was one plagued with hardships yet she still achieved so much in her short life and was known for her zest for life inspiring those who knew her everywhere she went. The entire Guerra family were well known throughout the community on the southern end of the Mornington Peninsula.
