The Emirates British Film Festival is hitting Perth shores 5-16 November.
You can find programs all around town
Held at Cinema Paradiso on James Street in Northbridge, it's a welcome opportunity to experience some exceptional British cinema, fresh from world renowned film festivals.
The festival will be opened by the Australian premier of Testament of Youth based on the World War I memoir of Vera Brittain. A powerful coming of age story fresh from the London Film Festival where it was received with high acclaim.
The closing film is just as impressive, The Imitation Game featured at the Toronto International Film Festival, staring Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightly among many other popular British names.
Others among the 15 great contemporary British films include: What We Did on Our Holiday - featuring everyone's favourite Scottish comedian Billy Connolly, A Long Way Down starring Pierce Brosnan, Imogen Poots and our very own Toni Collette and The Hooligan Factory.
The Hooligan Factory - a piss take on English thuggery
There's also Six from the 6o's which is a celebration of fabulous and ever so famous British films from 5 decades gone. Highlights include A Hard Day's Night - a movie starring The Beatles and the original The Italian Job starring (a very suave, young) Michael Caine.
