BrisVegas Kustom Karnival 2012
Sun 04 Nov 2012
being rained out at Rocklea the last two years, Robot Productions has decided to move indoors for their inaugural BrizVegas Kustom Karnival.
Held on Sunday, November 4, from noon until 6pm, this family-friendly festival will be spread over two levels of the Acacia Ridge Hotel, with a balcony overlooking the hot rods on display.
Lori Lee of Robot Productions claims "This is one of the hottest rockabilly events on the kustom calendar. Brisbane has really embraced this fun-fuelled genre and as a result we have acts coming from all over the world".
International acts include The Go Getters from Sweden, Charlie Hightone from Spain, and Almon Loos from the United States. The rockin' line-up also includes Australian bands and DJs, including Dan & The Dualtones, West Texas Crude, The Jim Rockfords, and DJ Swingabilly Ray. Besides rockabilly bands and hot rods, the carnival will cater to the crowds with more than fifty market stalls of rockabilly memorabilia and more.
Ladies, get made over with a new retro-styled hairdo: victory
rolls, pin-up girl curls, or peek-a-boo bangs. Gents, make an appointment with Almon Loos, 'The Rockin' Barber' from Los Angeles, who moonlights as a singer (see above). Visit Mimsy and her pretty pink and white Trailer Trash Tattoo
caravan and get inked.
Dress to impress and join pin up models on the Kitten Katwalk. Miss Kitten Darling will host the parade at 3pm, with all welcome to strut their stuff and show off their vintage, retro, rockabilly, or custom creations.
The real stars of the show though will be the hot rods, rat rods, custom cars, lowriders, and vintage bikes. Owners with pre-1970 vehicles are invited to showcase their retro rides in a relaxed, social setting. Click here

The Acacia Hotel is located at 1386 Beaudesert Road in Acacia Ridge.
