If you're like me and haven't rode your bike for a long time, then this June is the best time to start pumping those wheels in Brisbane's largest charity bike ride – the Brissie to the Bay .

In recognition of its 20th birthday, this year there's a new addition, the new 100km Brissie to the Bay course. The course heads from Musgrave Park, passing breathtaking scenery along Wynnum, Manly, Lota and Wellington Point, before heading via Wakerley.

If you don't think a 100km bike ride is your forte, there are three other (shorter) courses on which to ride. There is the 50km Brissie to Wynnum, which is ideal for those who cycle regularly or are looking to get a little competitive with their mates. Then there is the 25km Brissie to Balmoral, which is suitable for those who wish to get some more exercise or are looking to challenge themselves. Lastly, there's the 10km Brissie to Riverside, which is perfect for families and those seeking a more leisurely ride.

This year, people are encouraged to get behind the race by fundraising for a good cause, especially as the target is $500 000, with the support of more than 5000 participants expected. If everyone does their bit, the goal is expected to be reached by the final day.

So get behind this great event, get some exercise, and support this cause by riding your way to Brisbane's largest charity bike ride. For more information, including registration and fundraising tips, please visit the website .
