Briscola Espresso is a small sandwich/coffee bar on Pelham Street in Carlton. You can grab lunch to go here, or order at the counter and have your meal brought out to you.

Not dissimilar to anywhere on Lygon Street, when I went for lunch around 1pm Briscola's was filled with local workers (eating cake) and University students (having sandwiches). They had already sold out of most of their quiches, paninis and baguettes so I ordered a potato salad.

It was a great size for $5.50 and was filled with heaps of goodies like tomatoes, corn, carrot and greens - I liked it a lot, but it mostly just tasted like cream.

There's a relaxed atmosphere here. Cool posters on the wall:

Outdoor seating (fills up fast):

They serve Coffee MIO coffee and T2 tea here.

Best of all, this place is only a short stroll from a park.
