A mum who uses adventures and outings around town as an excuse to avoid the housework.

Being a city built around a river, Brisbane was always going to need a bridge or two. During the last decade the city has seen some major new bridges constructed or upgraded. Were these works needed or were the wrong river, rail and road crossing areas targeted? Do the bridges of Brisbane help or hinder local commuters and out of town visitors to travel around town?

We have some iconic bridges that have so far stood the test of time. The Story Bridge in the city and the Walter Taylor Bridge at Indooroopilly have some fascinating stories to tell about past Brisbane life. Another toll bridge has appeared (the Go Between Bridge) while an existing one was duplicated as the Gateway Bridge became the Sir Leo Hielscher Bridges. The rise of pedestrian bridges has continued with the Kurilpa Bridge and the Eleanor Schonell Bridge following on from the Goodwill Bridge.

Where do you think is Brisbane's worst bridge? It could be a bridge regularly clogged by traffic, an unnecessary construction, a bridge in need of renovation or repair, or simply a bridge which is an eyesore. Perhaps you have a story to share that could shed a bit of light on how the people of Brisbane mange to cross the river and its tributaries that divide the city. For me it is the incredibly annoying fact that if you need to drive from Toowong or St Lucia to Yeronga, you are up for a 20 minute drive although they are right next to eachother.

In my opinion, the worst looking bridge is that stupid Kurilpa Bridge, it must have cost a fortune for all those crazy lumps of steel hanging everywhere. Some say it's the ultimate in Art, to me it looks rediculas.
