Get your sweat-asana on
I love to get a good sweat on. If I can sweat, and get a workout, and some relaxation, and maybe even learn a few new party tricks? Even better.

Hot yoga has exploded in Brisbane in the past couple of years. Here are a few top spots.

1. Harlow Hot Yoga
Harlow opened in Newstead early last year, and has already amassed a number of loyal visitors (just check out the line out the door for Simon's Sunday morning class). A variety of instructors, a clean and calming space, and reasonable prices make this a stellar hot yoga studio. Try Harlow A classes for a power yoga style; Harlow B to focus more on alignment; and Harlow C for a deep, beautiful stretch.

2. Zama Yoga
Zama is also a baby to the hot yoga scene, and has been open for just over a year. The Toowong studio is smaller than most, but what it lacks in space it makes up for in enthusiastic instructors, a jam-packed timetable, and lots of workshops.

3. Zen Hot Yoga
The original and one of the best! This Sherwood hot spot (ha ha) was actually the first Far Infrared (FIR) yoga studio in the country. FIR promotes detoxification and can also reduce the body's acidity. Zen is also a beautiful space - just walk inside for instant calm.

4. Fusion Hot Yoga
Kangaroo Point is home to Fusion, which offers an average of four classes a day for all levels. Fusion also uses FIR heat, as well as a variety of workshops and special events.
