We all like to reward Mum on Mothers Day and what better way than with tasty morsels of fine finger food, the fragrant aroma and delicate taste of scented teas, and perhaps a glass or two of the bubbly stuff to top it off? Restaurants all over Brisbane are offering special Mothers' Day high teas, some with musical entertainment and giveaways, so spoil Mum on her special day. But you'd better get in fast, as bookings fill up quickly.


Lyrebird Restaurant, Queensland Performing Arts Centre

QPAC's Lyrebird Restaurant's Mothers Day High Tea offers sparkling wine on arrival, sweet and savoury treats, plenty of tea, and performances by La Forza and pianist, Dave Spicer. There will also be lucky door prizes.

Gillian's Garden Cafe

For something a little different try Gillian's Garden Cafe, a delightful space situated within the Cottage Garden Nursery at East Brisbane. Noted Queensland chef, Tracy Hirst, will serve up ribbon sandwiches, devonshire tea, sweet treats and tea or coffee. The cafe is BYO. They are also offering breakfast and dinner menus for Mothers Day.

Stamford Plaza

You have two options at the Stamford - Mother's Day Lobby High Tea or the Mother's Day High Tea River Room Buffet. Both offer a glass of sparkling wine, music, teas and elegant food selections. See here for full details.

When: 2 sittings available - from 10am to noon, or 3.30pm to 5.30pm.

Mums can take home the floral centrepieces from this high tea.


Sofitel

Does your mum love ballet? Brisbane's Sofitel, a sponsor of the Queensland Ballet, is going all out with high teas with a ballet theme. Their Ballroom Le Grand Mothers Day High Tea features all the usual mothers day treats plus sparkling wine, a showcase of ballerina costumes from Queensland Ballet and live entertainment.

When: Three sessions - 11am to 1pm, 2pm to 4pm and 5pm to 7pm
Cost: $59 for adults and $29 for children 5 to 12 for the early and late sessions. $65 for adults and $32 for children for the 2pm session.

Bacchus South Bank

If your mum is into jazz then Bacchus' Mothers Day High Tea might be just the thing. You and mum will be entertained by a jazz pianist while you sip tea and sparkling rose and indulge in sandwiches, scones and a range of sweet treats. There's even a gift for mum to take home. Bacchus will donate $2 from every high tea to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
