The Creativity Hub of Brisbane

Brisbane Visual Arts Community (BVAC) is well known for its biannual Art and Craft Pop-Up Shops but this Autumn, you are invited to go behind the scenes and see 'art in action' at the BVAC Open Weekend!

Held at the BVAC Hub, 140 Weller Road Tarragindi, on the weekend of 17 and 18 April, this is a special opportunity to discover for yourself a number of Brisbane's community visual art/craft groups in an inspiring location.

Here is what to look forward to over two jam-packed days:

  • A pop-up pottery studio at the Tarragindi Hub by Western Suburbs Clayworkers on Saturday morning and the pottery theme will continue with Ceramic Arts Queensland's "Raku Experience" on Saturday afternoon.

  • The Half Dozen Group of Artists may sketch you as you wander around the site.

  • Inside the Hub, you will find the Q. Enamellers' Guild creating jewellery downstairs while upstairs, Sunshine Beaders and porcelain painters APAT, will be hard at work with the textile group ATASDA.

  • On Sunday morning, you can sign up to make your very own Recycled Paper with Papermakers and Artists of Queensland. Book for this activity only at FB Papermakers and Artists Queensland www.facebook.com/groups/1500149726931459

All activities are social and aimed at adults. This a FREE event to enter but there may be a small materials charge if you wish to participate in some of the activities.

All are welcome to enjoy the BVAC Open Weekend! The opening times are 9 am to 4 pm on Saturday 17 April and 9 am to midday on Sunday 18 April. There is a large free parking area next to The Hub.

Please note this event will be adhering to COVIDSafe Guidelines, so it is safe to come along and see the variety of creative activities available to you in Brisbane!

Plan your visit by heading to bvac.org.au and following @BVAConlineHub.
