Aside from bagging a bargain, the most compelling reason for shopping at Brisbane Vintage and Collectables (BVC) Op Shop is that it helps a wide range of vulnerable people in the community.

Your purchases will help raise funds to assist the homeless, those leaving crisis care, victims of domestic violence, families who have lost their homes due to fire, school students in disadvantaged communities, and refugees who are trying to settle. Clothing, toys, and books have also been sent to Indonesia and Fiji to help impoverished communities and orphanages.

The BVC Op Shop prides itself in selling retro and vintage items - such things as ornate brooches and jewellery, crockery and cutlery, crocheted doilies, embroidered linen, beaded purses, old suitcases, shoes, and belts. While not everything is retro, you will still find much to browse through in this little shop which is brimming with secondhand goodies.

Trading hours:
Mon-Fri - 9.30am-2pm
Sat - 9am-12pm

The op shop was started 11 years ago under the auspices of Sandalwood Projects. It does not receive any government funding but has given support to many causes, including other charities.
